Double-Click My Computer | Dial Up Networking | Make New Connection.
The following screen will appear. Type in the name for your connection.
Type in a name that helps you identify it, such as Remote Access.
Your modem should already be included in the Select a device box
and configured. If not, Configure Your Modem.
Click Next.
 Type in the phone number, including area code, in the appropriate
box.
Click Next | Finish.
 A new icon will appear in the Dial Up Networking window with the
name you entered in the above screen.
Click the right mouse button and select Properties.
Select the Scripting tab and make sure the File Name box is blank.
In Multilink, select Do not use additional devices.
Select Server Types.
Check the two items as indicated below:

Click TCP/IP Settings in the lower right.
Select Server assigned IP address and Server assigned name server
addresses.
Be sure the WINS addresses are left at 0.0.0.0.
Uncheck Use IP header compression.

Click OK until you are out of the configuration. The Dial Up Networking
file is now configured and ready to use.
Prior to running your Dial Up Networking connection, the properties
for the Dial Up Adaptor and TCP/IP should be verified.
Click My Computer | Control Panel | Network.
Select Dial Up Adaptor to see the following screen:

Set the properties as follows:
Bindings:
* Check: TCP/IP
Advanced:
* Yes: Enable Point to Point IP
* Automatic: IP Packet Size
* No: Record a log file
* No: Use IPX header compression
Click OK.
Select TCP/IP to see the following screen:

Set the properties as follows:
IP Address:
* Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
WINS Configuration:
* Select Disable WINS Resolution
* Uncheck: Use DHCP for WINS Resolution
Gateway:
* Leave blank.
DNS Configuration:
* Select Disable DNS
NetBIOS:
* Uncheck: I want to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
* Leave Advanced blank.
Bindings:
* Leave blank. |
